Logistics

Logistics is the art of having the right working part in the right place at the right time for the right cost.

The main objective of the logistics team is to support our service delivery colleagues. We ensure that parts required to deliver our service are available at the point of use when they are required, so we can achieve the service levels that our customers and end users expect from us. In addition, all activities must fall within the agreed budget, so cost efficiency is a priority.

For any of this to happen, we need to make sure that our planning is first class, and that efficient processes and procedures are in place. Essentially, we need to remain in control, especially if we are using additional delivery partners, through all logistical stages including technical assessment, purchasing storage, transportation and the subsequent repair of our products.

Logistics is grouped into different sections within the department. These include Distribution, Workshop Repair, Planning and Cost Control/Technical Assessment. These are the main logistical teams, and they employ a total of 180 people. To join this busy and vital team, you need to be enthusiastic, have the relevant skills, be deadline driven and be a good communicator at all levels.
